native american horse costume?
okay so this is sort of a dumb question but I’m being forced to participate in this parade and I have to dress my horse up. I’m making him look like an indian pony but I’m not sure how. I plan on doing the whole Indian paint thing but i need more ideas. Any advice or links to sites are appreciated. Thanks! The link is my horse. What do colors do you think will go good with him?
haha yeah i asked that question a long time ago. he used to be all black as a foal and now he’s not as you can tell =)

That horse is gorgeous. I actually remember seeing him in a question before. Something about "Why is he changing colors?". It was a long time ago.
How about deep blue horse safe paint. A circle around the eye (large enough that none runs into the eye). Two hand prints on each side of the hindquarters. That’s all the painting I would do, you don’t want it to be over kill.
Put a feather (large-ish) in the main. And one in the tail.
Ride bareback, (if that is safe in the parade), use the most non-distracting bridle you can. If it is brightly colored or glitzy it will detract from the costume.
For you, you should find a good "reenactment" costume or halloween costume on ebay or something. Wear moccasins, or non distracting plain tan colored cowboy boots. Wear your hair in two braided pigtails, with red ribbon braided into it.
Good luck, it will look awesome!
Cute horse! if u google horse costumes you can find something. or u can do the pain and he would prob look good with like red paint. and u can put feathers in his mane. hope that helps
Remember my ancestors had very few colors to choose from, Red, Yellow, White, and light blue, maybe some purple from berries. So don’t get to fancy with the colors, Nice looking grey horse. Use water colors and do hand prints and animals like buffalo heads, on the hips, neck and shoulders. If you can find them use bird feathers in the mane.
